Pun-miester Bill Maher has made an extraordinary claim on his talk show curciut as of late. He asserts that evolution by natural selection from a common ancestor is the consesus view of the scientific community and only religious zealots doubts Darwin.
Pretty strong claim for someone who is not a doctor, biologist, geologist, paleontologist, anthropologist, philosopher, or even a scientist! It is awesome to see so many who know science, willing to add their names to this list. I think this is a list that many should see. Thanks for posting it!
Am a molecular biologist and Bill Maher is correct, evolution by natural selection is very much the consensus view within the scientific establishment, certain lists notwithstanding.

No doubt the majority adhere to it. The point of the list is that many who dissent are not religious people at all. They can no longer yell "creationsist" and dismiss objections. Creationists look to the Bible first and then try to insert science into that framework. Intelligent Design is different-it simply follows the evidence where it leads and that is why it lends itself even to people who are not rligious.
