I love love love this day! Did I mention I love this day? And no, it has nothing to do with shopping. While millions were freezing and fighting crowds to get deals, I was fast alseep with the knowledge that all our presents are already bought and paid for (way under budget this year). Our kids get 3 gifts each and a stocking, because that is what Jesus got, minus the stocking!
Anyways, I love this day because in our house we always get a Christmas Tree! We also decorate. Dawn is on the roof and in the bushes, making a beautiful sight for everyone who travels down our road.
Hope you have a great day too and Merry Christmas!
If you see a glow coming from across town...it's us! :)

Peace On Earth?
In Luke 2:8-14, the angels proclaimed peace on earth. Yet what exactly does peace mean? Ask a hippie and they might give the peace sign and say: “no war.” Ask a mother of three at the end of the day and she might say: “bed time.” Some think peace is having enough money in the bank. For some, peace is found in amassing weopons to thwart off attacks. For others, peace is an ideal that cannot be achieved. For some it is global and for others it is personal. I decided to ask the people in my house what they think it means. Here are there answers word for word:
(My 6 year old): “No worries. When you feel afraid, don’t go being scared. Or when you are lost don’t go being scared either, because God is always with you. Jesus was born on Christmas so we could have peace and never have to be alone again. This makes our lives long and happy.”
(My 9 year old): “Peace to me means that God is with us at all times. He sent his only Son to be with us.”
(My 2 year old): “I want butter beans!”
(My Wife): “It means contentment in your spirit. No inner turmoil.”
I think the peace that the angels proclaimed was much deeper than the absence of war. This peace cannot be gained through a treaty or a feeling. The peace that God brought at Christmas was literally in the flesh, lying in a manger. Jesus is God’s answer to the mystery spoken through the prophets. Even the angels longed to discover how God was going to reconcile sinful humanity unto himself.
His plan was revealed on that Christmas night. God cared enough to come personally. Because he came and made the sacrifice for us, we can now find true peace. This peace that cannot adequately be put into words. It is a peace that is not conditioned on life curcumsances or happiness. It is a peace that truly passes all understanding. It is in fact, a gift. It takes its place in the line of God’s great gifts to his children. It stands next to Joy and Love, among others. If you don’t know that peace, receive Christ as your savior today. If you do know of that peace, take time today and thank God for it.

Green Mania
I remember sitting in CEP (Cultural Enrichment Program) at Campbell University and for two or three hour long sessions we had an "expert" on the "ozone problem" bore us to death. Among the evils of the world were cars, factories, and even aerosol cans. Now that the ozone has fixed itself and we have learned that was all a farce, the environmentalists have moved on to other ventures. Now it is all green this and green that. Obama warns that the planet is in dire straights and Al Gore has been promoting global warming for years. My question is: "Why? What do they have to gain from this" The New York Times front page article today clues us in. Al Gore may become the first "carbon billionaire." I truly believe global warming is a farce. The planet goes through cycles.
Think about it this way: We have only been collecting data for a few hundred years. These liberals who push global warming believe the earth has been here for millions and millions of years. Based on that, how can you really know ANYTHING about the climate and the future of it in such a tiny time span of study? The fact is that people are making a killing off of "going green." From car companies to clean energy etc. Here's the best part....who do you think is making these folks like Al Gore rich? We are. The Times article details how companies that Gore invested in are getting billions (with a B) of government grants. Taxpayer money lining their pockets.
As Christians we should be concerned about the environment because it is God's creation and we are stewards. However, we need to be aware of "green mania" because the real "green" involved is in the form of green money.

Former Planned Parenthood Director Resigns after seeing ultrasound of an abortion

Former Planned Parenthood director resigns after seeing ultrasound of an abortion. In my opinion nobody with a conscience could see an ultrasound and be in favor of abortion. Good for her.
